Food Sensitivity Testing

Dr. Kevin Ianson & Dr. Brewster Scott* are pleased to be able to offer laboratory testing services for food sensitivities through Rocky Mountain Analytical.

These tests are different from the regular scratch test you would receive from an allergist which is looking for acute markers of an immune reaction (IgE antibodies). The Rocky Mountain Analytical Food Sensitivity Test is looking for IgG antibodies which occur as a delayed reaction taking hours or sometimes days to develop. As such, these delayed reactions can make it difficult for a person to determine which foods triggered their symptoms and testing can help to eliminate the guesswork.

Food sensitivities can cause a variety of symptoms throughout the body including digestive issues, migraine headaches, mood & attention disorders, and weight gain. Typically symptoms will improve within a few weeks of eliminating foods which you have a sensitivity to. However, if antibody levels are very high or deposited in multiple types of tissue symptoms can take up to six months to start resolving.
