Dr. Kevin Ianson, Dr.TCM (R.Ac)
Kevin is a graduate of the doctor of traditional Chinese medicine program at Pacific Rim College and is a registered acupuncturist, herbalist, and doctor of traditional Chinese medicine with the CTCMA. In addition to his training at Pacific Rim College, Kevin completed a residency at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and its affiliate hospitals in the neurology and pain management departments where he saw a variety of conditions including concussion, stroke, paralysis, multiple sclerosis (MS), Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson’s disease, and Bell’s palsy to name a few. Kevin continues to develop his skills and knowledge through both mentor and self directed study with an passion for seeking out a greater understanding of the classical texts that laid the foundations of traditional Chinese medicine as it is today.
Kevin believes that healthcare should have a patient centered approach that emphasizes patient education and working with the patient to achieve their optimum health through minimal intervention. Areas of particular clinical interest to Kevin are neurology, internal medicine, cardiology & respirology, and trauma recovery. In addition traditional Chinese acupuncture Kevin is also trained in Korean buddhist Sa’am acupuncture and the Zhao, Zhu, & Lin scalp acupuncture systems.
Outside the clinic, you can find Kevin engaged with a wide variety of community organization providing first aid and aquatic emergency management training to both the public and professional groups. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys practicing aikido, hiking, bouldering, and geeking out about Chinese medicine.
